Square #49: Owl Square

Tools needed: size H hook, yarn needle, tape measure or ruler

Yarn needed: medium (4) worsted weight yarn- 2 colors for background, two for owl, plus white, black, and yellow for the owl's features

Skills needed: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochetdouble crochet treble crochet

Notes: Hoo hoo loves this granny square? This is the cutest square you've ever seen, and you can't even deny it.  I just used black yarn instead of a button for the eyes, which changes the look a little from the photos with the pattern, but it's not awful.  The owl is worked as part of the square rather than an addon later, so be sure to follow the pattern.  It took me a couple tries to get it just right, or right enough.
